Art Center Board Archive
The Art Center Board became the Arts & Culture Commission in May 2013. The board previously guided and supported the general development of the Edina Art Center by providing recommendations to the City Council regarding facilities, activities and programs.
The original idea of the Arts & Culture Commission began with the Arts & Culture Working Group in October 2011. The Edina Art Center Board felt the need to establish a volunteer working group to develop a vision and strategic plan for art and culture in Edina. After 20 months of monthly and semi-monthly meetings, a core group of Edina Residents, Art Center Board members and Art Center staff created a 31 page document listing art producing groups found in Edina in 11 categories: music, dance, theater, decorative arts, painting, culinary arts, ceramics, sculpture, literature, media arts and public art.
