Edina Art Center to Present ‘Art With a Bark’

Edina, Minn., June 3, 2015 –The Edina Art Center will host “Art with a Bark,” a Margaret Foss Gallery exhibition all about canines, June 25 through July 29, with an opening reception 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25.  

The Art Center will host a dozen artists -- Birgit Karen Bach, Kat Corrigan, Sue and Chris Holmquist, John House, Barbara Benson Keith, Barbara La Valleur, Michelle Reacke, Tom Sack, Lorraine Schiller, Roz Stendahl, Mark and Bridgette Thiesen – all who work in a variety of media to express their interpretation of dogs. On display will be paintings, drawings, found object and wood sculpture, bronze sculpture, functional pottery, glass mosaic and clay tiles with a dog theme.

The Art Center will also offer unique, locally produced pet gear, organic dog treats and information about dog-related companies, including Bone Adventure, K9 Coach (Carly & Jess), Lucky Dog Pet Lodge, Scoopy Poo and Second Hand Hounds, in the Gallery’s “kennel salon.”

Light refreshments will be served at the opening reception. Guests and their well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
