Minnesota Artist Leads Pottery Workshop and Group Exhibition
Edina, Minn., Sept. 30, 2016 – Minnesota Potter Jeff Oestreich will lead a workshop and group exhibition Oct. 28-30 at the Edina Art Center.
During the workshop, Oestreich will demonstrate his techniques of wheel throwing, altering and assembly, and discuss his approach. He will also work to guide students in identifying the strength in their work through practice, research, discussion, possibilities and creative response, and discuss ways to capitalize on individual strengths.
The weekend will include the following:
6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28
Artist Talk and Presentation
Cost: $40 Non-Member, $30 Member
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30
Workshop and Presentation
Cost: $196 Non-Member, $177 Member
A $50 discount is available to college students (18-24 years of age).
A weekend exhibition of participants’ artwork will be part of this workshop. Each participant should bring two pieces of pottery work they feel best illustrates their personal voice. This artwork will be installed in the Edina Art Center Gallery for discussion for the duration of the workshop. Please deliver two works to the Edina Art Center between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. Participants may pick up their artwork from Edina Art Center on Sunday, Oct. 30.
