Braemar Arena To Host CCM Skills Camp
Edina, Minn., Aug. 5, 2016 – Braemar Arena and Field, 7501 Ikola Way, will host a CCM Skills Camp Aug. 6 to 7. This is a unique opportunity for hockey youth to further their skills for this competitive sport.
“We are extremely excited to host such a thrilling event that aligns with our mission of providing on-ice training, fitness, agility and nutrition to our customers,” said Braemar Arena Assistant Manager Roxann Maxey.
All kids participating in the camp are between the ages of 8 and 12, and will focus on four crucial parts to the game: on-ice training with obstacle courses, speed radars and other skills tests; fitness training circuits to help players learn the value of off-ice training; agility games such as soccer to display athletic abilities; and nutrition to show the value of a healthy lifestyle for athletes.
The participants will also have the chance to try out and evaluate new CCM equipment such as pads, shorts, skates, helmets and sticks.
“We have been planning the details for the past several months and are excited they chose Edina to be the Minneapolis-based location for this year’s camp,” said Maxey. “This brings great tourism into our community and a chance to show off our premiere facility.”
CCM Skills Camps are held in ten cities this year throughout North America, including Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
