Highway 100 Closures April 22-25

The following is information recently released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Hwy 100 closing this weekend, April 22-25

If you’re traveling on Hwy 100 in the western Twin Cities metro area this weekend, you will encounter detours at I-394 and Hwy 62 beginning Friday night, April 22.

Both directions of Highway 100 between I-394 in Golden Valley and Highway 62 will close at 9 p.m. April 22 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 25, weather permitting.

Motorists will be detoured around the closure via I-35W, I-394 and Highway 62.

The closure is needed while crews complete demolition of the Highway 7 bridge.

The work is part of a larger project on Highway 100 that includes:

  • Reconstructing Highway 100 at the Highway 7 and Minnetonka Boulevard interchanges in St. Louis Park.
  • Widening the highway between West 36th Street and 25 1/2 Street to include three lanes in each direction for improved capacity.

Please allow for extra travel time or find alternative routes during construction. 

 

Other closures

Several other closures along Hwy 100 set to begin Monday, April 25

Both directions of Hwy 100 between I-394 in Golden Valley and Hwy 62 will close at 9 p.m. Friday, April 22 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 25, weather permitting.

Traffic will be detoured around the closure via I-35W, I-394 and Hwy 62.

The closure is needed while crews complete demolition of the Hwy 7 bridge and move both directions of Hwy 100 traffic to the southbound lanes.

Several other closures associated with the work on Hwy 100 are set to begin April 25, weather permitting:

Monday, April 25, 1 a.m. through Friday, April 29

  • Ramp from Eden Avenue to southbound Hwy 100 will be closed
  • Ramp from 50th Street to southbound Hwy 100 will be closed

Monday, April 25, 5 a.m. through early August

  • Northbound Hwy 100 to eastbound Hwy 7 ramp will be closed through early August

Monday, April 25, 5 a.m. through Nov. 2016

  • Ramp from Minnetonka Blvd to southbound Hwy 100 will be closed
  • Ramp from 36th Street to northbound Hwy 100 will be closed
  • Ramp from northbound Hwy 100 to 36th Street will be closed
